Slim Full Width High Clearance Wrap Around Rear Bumper for the JL Jeep Wrangler. This bumper features heavy duty steel construction, improved departure angles, built-in recovery points, and optional light provisions.
JL Rear Bumper - Rimrocker Series with Tire Carrier
Moving to the Colorado/Utah border has adventure calling to us more then ever. This bumper design has been inspired by just that. The name "Rimrocker" comes from the Rimrocker Trail -- an Interstate overland trail that connects the rock crawling of Moab Utah to Montrose Colorado. From hardcore crawling at both ends -- to anything between the two, is what we build these for.
This Slim Fitting Full Width/ Wrap Around JL Rear Bumper is laser cut, CNC formed, fabricated, and hand-welded with pride in the USA. Crafted from a combination of 3/16", 1/4", 3/8" and 1" thick steel, this rear bumper is both lightweight and stout-where-it-counts so that you can hit the hardcore trails with confidence!
The machined 1" thick recovery tabs extend inside the bumper; they are welded directly to the mounting brackets that attach them to the frame of the Jeep. Additional reinforcements can be found gusseting the inside of this bumper from the wingtip to the frame mounts.
The bumper can accommodate up to a 38" tailgate-mounted spare tire without raising the spare tire mount. The spare tire recess also doubles as a step at the rear of the Jeep -- with dimple died holes to give your boots some grip!
The Rimrocker series JL Rear Bumper features up to eight mounting points on the sides and bottom of the frame rails, which prevents unwanted rotation of the bumper into the body tub if you take a real hit on the trail. Our design also accommodates the factory hitch receiver, so you maintain your OE rating while towing. Finally, the JL Rear Bumper also features optional light provisions designed for Baja Designs S2 Flush Mount Lights. Also included is an aluminum backing plate located behind our logo cutout (shown here with orange vinyl on it in some demo photos.)
We highly recommend relocating the license plate from the bumper -- if you're out there on the trail, it's bound to be pulled off by rocks. For this modification check out our License Plate Relocation Brackets.
Products are designed and fabricated to fit vehicles that have varying tolerances from the factory, minor hand fitting may be required.
Products are shipped bare metal unless otherwise specified by the customer. Bare metal products may have scratches or surface imperfections as a result of raw material handling, manufacturing, and fabrication. However, these imperfections are easily covered up with a textured powder coat finish. Additional finishing, sanding, and prep work may be required if you wish to also have them finished with a smooth powder coat or paint.
Projected lead times are estimates only, and are subject to changes due to production realities, including material and labor availability and sudden variability in order volume. Lead times are not guaranteed, but we do guarantee that we are hard at work trying to get the best product we can produce and into our customers’ hands as quickly as possible.
All Next Venture Motorsports products are laser cut, CNC formed, and hand-weld with pride in the USA. We are a Colorado-based business, and welcome visitors by appointment at our Grand Junction, CO headquarters. We hope to see you out there on the trail soon!
Awesome product! Beautiful welds. Impressive quality.
I have a ‘22 Rubicon 4xe on 2.5” Clayton short arm lift with 37” Nitto Trail Grapplers. The carrier is strong and stable and moves in unison with the swing gate, holds this heavy tire effortlessly and puts no strain on my hinges. A little tricky to install the swivel between the gate and the carrier, particularly the bolt on the carrier side. This needs a little cut out or something.
Bumper hugs the body well for improved departure. NVM painted mine black with Grumpy blue (matches light 4xe blue color) recovery points. I placed blue vinyl on the mounting plates behind the logos. Looks really nice.
Well worth the money and effort. Performs well off-road. Can take a beating.
Purchase the Rimrocker with tire carrier for my 2022 Rubicon Diesel. 3.5" lift sitting on 37's. The bumper was a hard decision not because I wasn't sure what I wanted but because this is my ladies daily driver and our weekend 4 wheeler. She gotta love the parts I put on it or they go straight to craigslist. Ur welcome Craigslist shoppers for the great deals....
SUPER HAPPY!!! Its really well done...everything about it. I liked it straight out of the box so much i was just going to clear coat seal it and mount it showing bare metal it looks that good! But....a girl likes what a girl likes...the jeep came with black bumpers so it needs to be black. It got a coat of self etching primer then I used Speedocoat T-Rex truck bedliner in gloss black. I loved the bumper but hated the gloss....so...more self etching primer and flat black top coat.
PERFECT!!!! And I mean PERFECT!!!
It really looks great.
Mounting was solid, 4 bolts per frame rail. 2 on the side, 2 on the bottom. Slides into place perfectly! Not to tight, certainly not to loose, just perfect. No need to remove the factory hitch. Just tilt it forward and slides right into place. Did it myself.
The mounting bolts on the side of the frame rail are awkward to get to. I used a 1/2" universal joint to make short work out of it. The tire carrier mounts with standard old school wheel bearings and 36mm(or standard equivalent) wheel nut.
The carrier itself is solid. Easily fits my 37" spare mounted on Rocktrix 17x9 5.5" back space. Factory rear backup camera mounts right up and works like it should.
The instructions are Ikea(ish) not the best but who can't put together a piece of Ikea furniture??? Really...its a bumper and comes with pictures 👍
It took a couple trys to get the tire pressed up against the swing arm. If ya get that right. It's cake and pie. Figure out a cool license plate mount and 3rd brake light and your done.
Oh yeah...lights on the bumper. The cut out is for baja designs. They really are about the best as the components they use are quality but I went with some Chineseium ones from Amazon. They fit perfectly and I won't cry when I destroy them....$30 for the set.
I'll see about sending a picture!
