If you're going to really get out on the trails or off in the rocks-- there's nothing that will change the rhythm of your day quite like losing your rear shocks or mounts. These rear shock & lower control arm mount skids are designed to give a smooth ramp up and over obstacles while also offering protection and reinforcement to your rear shocks and your lower control arm mounts on your rear axle. The rear shock/rear lower control arm mount on the Wrangler happens to be some of the lowest hanging fruit on the entire vehicle for rocks and obstacles to catch on -- since they hang down lower then anything else on the axle.

These skid plates are laser cut from a combo of 1/4" and 3/16" thick high strength HRPO steel, and CNC formed for a precision fit. The bolt on layer of UHMW (included!) that is located beneath the steel skid also makes it more difficult to get hung up on rocks since it's slippery and impact resistant -- it's the same material we use underneath our belly skids! Installation does require removal of the rear shocks/lower control arm bolts on the axle end and uses existing holes and hardware to attach.

 

These JL Rear Shock and Control Arm Skid Plates are sold as a pair of left and right skids that ship bare metal and will require painting or coating unless ordered otherwise.
