🛠️ How to Install JK Wrangler Front Aluminum Fenders

Made in Colorado | Built for the Rocks

If you’ve been looking to give your JK or JKU a fresh, functional upgrade — this one’s for you. In this video, Tyler and Jacob walk through the installation of our Next Venture Motorsports JK Aluminum Front Fender Flares, showing every step from factory removal to wiring the integrated LED lights.

These fenders are designed for maximum clearance, strength, and trail visibility while giving your Jeep a clean, finished look that stands out on and off the trail.

🔧 Step-By-Step Install Overview

1️⃣ Remove Factory Fenders
Start by unbolting and unclipping the stock flares. The JK uses more hardware than the JL, but once the bolts and clips are out, they’ll pop off cleanly.

2️⃣ Trim and Prep the Mounting Area
You’ll remove one small “ear” tab and clean up the edge with a grinder or die grinder. Hit the bare metal with touch-up paint before moving on — once the new fenders are on, you won’t want to go back in there again.

3️⃣ Drill and Install the Support Brackets
Each fender includes precision-fit steel brackets that line up with factory holes. Mark, drill, and install the supplied ¼-inch rivnuts using a 3/8" bit. Paint the brackets to prevent corrosion before final install.

4️⃣ Mock-Up and Fitment
Bolt the fender on loosely to confirm alignment. You’ll mark two additional holes to drill, remove the fender, drill them, and reinstall everything for good.

5️⃣ Wiring the LED Lights
JKs have their turn signals in the grille, so we include a plug-and-play splitter harness to connect the integrated fender lights. Just be gentle on the center set screw — overtightening can damage the LED. Route the wiring behind the grille, zip-tie everything clean, and you’re ready to roll.

💡 Pro Tips from the Shop

  • Always test-fit before paint or final install.

  • Paint any bare steel edges for corrosion resistance.

  • Don’t overtighten the small center set screw on the LED.

  • Leave enough slack in the wiring for future service or inner fender installs.

  • Rivnut installation tool

  • Grinder or cutoff wheel
