Looking for the ultimate game changer to improve your approach angle? If you're going to modify your JL/JT frame for clearance on the trail, measure twice - and cut once. This is the full measure if you choose to go for it: the full 5" frame chop bumper you've been waiting for! Made from 1/4" thick steel and 1" steel recovery points this bumper will stand up to heavy use, while delivering an uncompromising approach angle on the trail.

The chop kit can be used to remove up to 5.25" of the front frame rail, however we have found that a 3.25" chop can be accomplished without modifying your air conditioning and still providing a huge benefit to approach angle.

The 3" Chop

3.25" Length Chop on JL 2.0 Turbo
3.25" Chop Shown on Sting Gray JLU (2.0 Turbo Engine)

The 5" Chop

The chop of any length requires the use of an aftermarket front sway bar. The full 5" chop length require an aftermarket A/C condenser with a reduced vertical profile. While we can provide the A/C condenser, at this time, you will need to work with a local shop to complete the evacuation and recharge of your A/C system in addition to completing your A/C lines to hook up your new A/C condenser and A/C dryer.

Cutting, grinding, welding, and aftermarket sway bar (such as the anti-rock) is all required to complete this frame chop kit properly!

Specific for the 3.25" Chop Kit - we now offer a 5" height stinger constructed from 2" DOM structural tubing that can be bolted on. We do not offer this option for the 5" chop as there is not room without significant modification to the grille.

Looking for additional lighting options? We now offer a bolt on light mount specific for this bumper that tucks LEDs high and tight behind the bumper, but low enough to be useful for cutting through fog and dust with the right lights!

The mount will accept up to 5 Baja S1 Pods (or similar) and locates the mounts between your steering and your sway bar -- a difficult spot for rocks to get to.

What's included:
  • Steel Frame Chop Bumper
  • New Frame Horns (left/right pair)
  • Frame Side Front Sway Bar Mounting Brackets (factory units are removed)

Optional to include:

  • LED Mounting Bracket (Fits up to 5 Baja S1 LED Pods or Similar)
  • 5" Height Stinger (2" DOM Structural Tubing - Bolt on)
  • Optional: 19x11 Air Conditioning Condenser and Dryer (factory unit will be removed)
What you will need to provide:
  • A compatible winch (As shown - with Warn 9.0Rc Available Here!)
  • Cutting/Grinding/Welding
  • Aftermarket Sway Bar (As shown - with Antirock Available Here!)
  • For chops greater then 3.25": 19x11 Air Conditioning Condenser and Dryer (Optional To Include Above!) and a trip to a shop to evacuate your air conditioning system before beginning & a trip back to plumb lines and recharge the system afterwards
  • 3 Longer power cables for relocation of control box.
FAQ:

Q: The photos show that the grille of the JL is trimmed to clear the winch -- is this required?
A: No. This prototype differs from the production version which drops the winch mounting tray slightly as to not require this little bit of trimming.

Q: Will this frame chop bumper work on my JK/JKU?
A: The frame dimensions are nearly identical on the JK/JKU, however relocation of components, vacuum lines and air conditioning components are on the installer at this time. You can see what some of our customers have done here on their JK - all without modifying their air conditioning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m-o1LoK23M

Q: Will this frame chop bumper work on my TJ/LJ?
A: We have also seen this bumper installed successfully on an LJ, however it won't net as much of a frame chop and required a full hydro steering system in order to delete the steering box and make room for the winch and winch tray. We did not intend this as a TJ/LJ bumper, so you are on your own for this one  -- but the frame width dimensions do work out pretty closely!
Want to learn more about the process? Watch Chris in this video go over some of the finer points. The intro shows some of it, but skip to about the 10 minutes mark (10 min 12 sec) in the video below to really dive in! This is the 5.25" chop length.

parts inspired by the trail

Our team got into the game after rock crawling, wrenching, fabricating and being inspired to design and build parts for what we love to do: hit the trail.

They invited me and my whole crew in for a tour of the facility on our way to Moab. These guys not only produce amazing armor for your Jeep, they are really good people. So, I’ve been running their rear diff skid for 9 months and it has easily held up to everything I’ve thrown at it.

After this go around with Moab and Holy cross, the diff skids did their job and protected my Jeep. My rear aluminum bumper performed phenomenally on the trail!

Can’t say enough about Dan and his ultra skilled team! Dan was able to get us in for a skidplate with UHMW & sliders for our JKUR. The fit, finish and quality are just out of this world! Can you say “stacked dimes”? Absolutely gorgeous welds…

2 years later I'm writing this review. I've beaten the crap out of this thing hitting rocks, winching, draging it down obstacles, and now exposed to the Florida elements. The bumper looks like it did the day they sent it. You will not find a better company to work with that cares about their clients and their products!

Quality is amazing, items fit perfectly. Couldn't be more happy; these are gonna help out a lot between the tons and LS1.

Without a doubt, Next Venture Motorsports is my first stop for epic Jeep parts. Their JL aluminum front and rear featherweight bumpers are solidly built, easy enough to install, and crafted to perfection. I can't wait for more products for my 2 door JL!

AWESOME quality and customer service. 2021 Jeep 4xe! Return customer and will return again. Thank You Dan!

I like it because it lets you use factory fog lights if you want. They also have a featherweight aluminum option that doesn't have holes for fogs and is essentially a stubby bumper. I am very pleased with all of their stuff. [JL/JT Adventure Series Bumper]
