The factory lower control arm mounts on the JL and JT can be easily bent on the trail, and do almost nothing to protect the lowest point of your lower control arms and control arm joints.
These lower control arm skids weld directly to your factory control arm brackets and are designed to reinforce the brackets with 1/4" high strength HROPO steel and prevent hang ups and bang ups with slippery, impact resistant UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight PE) skid surfaces! This is the same material we've been using under our full belly skid systems!
- Laser Cut from 1/4" high strength HRPO Steel
- CNC Formed for precision fit
- Steel contains pressed in threaded inserts for UHMW mounting (pressed in with our 110 ton CNC brake for good measure)
- Includes 1/4" thick UHMW skid/wear surfaces
- All flush/recessed hardware for UHMW mounting
- Sold as a pair of left/right
- Require painting after welding/installation is completed
If you do any rock crawling or serious off road travel in a Jeep JL and have taken the time to look under your Jeep and inspect it after, you have most likely noticed damage to the lower control arm mounting brackets. The brackets are located on the bottom of the front axle so they seem to take a beating almost every time I have been out crawling, my wife’s Jeep is the same, even If your running 37’s they just don’t have enough clearance between the ground and the bracket. We recently had the lower control arm skid brackets installed in both of our Jeeps and after just a few weeks you can already see where the skids have protected the brackets. The skids are welded directly to the axles and also have a UHMW 1/4” pad on the bottom of the bracket to help the skid to slide over rough surfaces. NO MORE BENT OR BROKEN COMPLETELY OFF THE AXLE control arm brackets. Most definitely worth it, we will be getting the rear brackets added soon along with the under belly skids. Bottom line is you have to protect your rig or you will eventually be stranded or just broken down on a trail.

Just installed and the guys who did the install were genuinely impressed at the quality and build
Why next venture?
parts inspired by the trail
Our team got into the game after rock crawling, wrenching, fabricating and being inspired to design and build parts for what we love to do: hit the trail.
