Looking for the ultimate game changer to improve your approach angle? If you're going to modify your JL/JT frame for clearance on the trail, measure twice - and cut once. This is the full measure if you choose to go for it: the full 5" frame chop bumper you've been waiting for! Made from 1/4" thick steel and 1" steel recovery points this bumper will stand up to heavy use, while delivering an uncompromising approach angle on the trail.
The chop kit can be used to remove up to 5.25" of the front frame rail, however we have found that a 3.25" chop can be accomplished without modifying your air conditioning and still providing a huge benefit to approach angle.

3.25" Chop Shown on Sting Gray JLU (2.0 Turbo Engine)
The chop of any length requires the use of an aftermarket front sway bar. The full 5" chop length require an aftermarket A/C condenser with a reduced vertical profile. While we can provide the A/C condenser, at this time, you will need to work with a local shop to complete the evacuation and recharge of your A/C system in addition to completing your A/C lines to hook up your new A/C condenser and A/C dryer.
Cutting, grinding, welding, and aftermarket sway bar (such as the anti-rock) and air conditioning work is all required to complete this frame chop kit properly!
Specific for the 3.25" Chop Kit - we now offer a 5" height stinger constructed from 2" DOM structural tubing that can be bolted on. We do not offer this option for the 5" chop as there is not room without significant modification to the grille.
Looking for additional lighting options? We now offer a bolt on light mount specific for this bumper that tucks LEDs high and tight behind the bumper, but low enough to be useful for cutting through fog and dust with the right lights!
The mount will accept up to 5 Baja S1 Pods (or similar) and locates the mounts between your steering and your sway bar -- a difficult spot for rocks to get to.

FAQ:
Q: The photos show that the grille of the JL is trimmed to clear the winch -- is this required?
A: No. This prototype differs from the production version which drops the winch mounting tray slightly as to not require this little bit of trimming.
Q: Will this frame chop bumper work on my JK/JKU?
A: The frame dimensions are nearly identical on the JK/JKU, however relocation of components, vacuum lines and air conditioning components are on the installer at this time. You can see what some of our customers have done here on their JK - all without modifying their air conditioning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m-o1LoK23M

Q: Will this frame chop bumper work on my TJ/LJ?
A: We have also seen this bumper installed successfully on an LJ, however it won't net as much of a frame chop and required a full hydro steering system in order to delete the steering box and make room for the winch and winch tray. We did not intend this as a TJ/LJ bumper, so you are on your own for this one -- but the frame width dimensions do work out pretty closely!
